Equatorial Guinea obtained it's independence in 1968. Until 1975 the peseta guineana used to be the legal tender. The ekuele was used in 1975-80.
The epkwele (bipkwele in plural) - in 1980-85. It's currency unit now is the CFA franc, which is divided into 100 centimes. Please, see
