The Indonesian florin was the legal tender in the Netherlands Indies from 1854. During the japanese occupation in 1942-1945 the florins, tied to the yen, were issued. The rupee was introduced in February 1950. New rupees were introduced in 1965 at 1:1000 ratio. 1 rupee equals 100 sen.
